Outside Our Walls - National & Global

From northern Michigan to Kentucky, from Haiti to Cuba, we offer opportunities to serve nationally or globally.
Cuba
Manzanillo, Cuba
We stand in partnership with the Methodist Church of Manzanillo and other churches in Cuba, supporting the spread of Methodism in a predominantly Catholic and secular country. The people of Cuba face extreme shortages of food and basic household items—things that may seem simple to us but are invaluable to them. Join us in providing much-needed relief and sharing God’s love with our Cuban neighbors.
Czech Republic
Prague, Czech Republic
The Christian Help Center in Prague is a mission dedicated to providing shelter, support, and hope for homeless single women with children and families. Through long-term housing, essential support services, and skills training, the center empowers residents to gain independence and build self-sufficient futures.
Ghana
Ashanti Region, Ghana
In communities across Ghana, families continue to grapple with challenges in education, health, and daily living. Our mission partners with local churches and villages to address these needs by building classrooms, providing school furniture, repairing churches, and improving sanitation. Through these efforts, we are strengthening communities and paving the way for brighter futures for children and families.
Haiti
Jeremie Area, Haiti
Our Haiti Mission is dedicated to building and renovating schools and churches, providing mobile medical clinics, and supporting two orphanages and a senior care facility. We offer K-12 tuition sponsorships, construct shelter homes, and distribute handmade dresses sewn by Birmingham First seamstresses—bringing hope and dignity to the people.
Henderson Settlement
Frakes, Kentucky
We support children and youth (ages 4–18) in one of the poorest areas in the U.S., providing ministry, education, and enrichment. Our mission extends beyond the settlement by funding educational and cultural field trips, giving children opportunities to explore places like the Children’s Museum in Oak Ridge, the Knoxville Zoo, and Cumberland Gap National Historical Park.

Sneedville
Sneedville, Tennessee
We support the United Methodist Jubilee Water Project by funding well-digging to provide clean, uncontaminated water for families in this poor, mountainous region. In addition, we help stock the communal food pantry and sponsor occasional day trips for a women’s group, offering them a rare opportunity to explore beyond their rural community.
UMCOR
